VioE was only recently discovered, with a relative molecular mass of only 22 kDa, at the very end of the entire gene cluster, and exists in dimer form. Under the action of VioE, a 1-2 transformation and decarboxylation reaction occurs on the unknown intermediate product X on the indole ring, producing a deoxygenated purple bacillin precursor.In IGEM Tianjin 2022, we used this gene to detect CBE's edit efficiency.
