PaDes12
PaDes12 encodes ∆-12 desaturase from Parietichytrium sp. which functions in the desaturase and elongase pathway and could convert C18:1 to C18:2.
Description
The PaDes12 gene encodes a protein of 399 amino acids. Heterologous expression of PaDes12 could catalyze C18:1 to C18:2 in Y. lipolytica.
Yohei Ishibashi et al. applied this enzyme in C20ELO KO cells to obtain a 6-fold higher yield of the target product, demonstrating the high availability of this enzyme activity.
