Arabidopsis thaliana Heat Shock Protein (AtHSP)
AtHSP is a terminator that was discovered from the analysis of the A. thaliana genome1. It contains poly A regions where the mRNA is cleaved, which helps increase the expression of the desired transgene1. When compared to other A. thaliana terminators, AtHSP was effective in increasing expression levels of the desired transgene1,2. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are involved in many different essential cellular processes, which makes AtHSP a good candidate for increasing the expression of a transgene3. Additional benefits of using AtHSP include its small size, which helps reduce the overall size of the desired genetic construct.
