EBP10 Half-life Extender
Extends half life of Exendin-4 in vivo.
Usage and Biology
A Half-life extender (elastin-based polypeptide) sequence was added to our insert on the C terminus in the S. cerevisiae gene fragment. The half-life extender is made up of a ten times repeat of the VPGVG amino acid sequence and has been shown to increase the half life of Exendin-4 by 3.7 fold [1]. This component of our protein will be utilized once we reach in vivo trials. The optimized codon sequence will produce our functional protein when transcribed, and the half-life extender should not interfere with the binding of Exendin-4 and the GLP-1 receptor.
