T7 promoter
Promoter for bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase
Usage and Biology
This promoter is recognised by T7 RNA polymerase and display constitutive activity which is dependent on the availability of RNA polymerase (Kesik-Brodacka et al., 2012). According to literature, the promoters of the T7 group display high activity and orthogonality to other bacterial promoters which are regulated by bacterial RNA polymerases. This promoter can be used for the in vitro transcription with T7 RNA Polymerase of sequences located downstream of the promoter, ensuring strong transcription and high RNA yields (Conrad et al., 2020).
