CAPE-AFP:

This construct begins with a His-tag, which helps with the purification of the protein. After the His-tag is our chimeric Anti-PbEL04 (CAPE) repeated three times, this was done to increase the change of binding with PbEL04 and overall structure to the chimeric fluorophore probe. Finally, we added a lysine rich region. The lysine rich region is present to bind to colloidal gold particles, which when excited, will fluoresce in visible light giving a signal which will be explored with the Club^2 test strips. We first made this coding region as a basic part (BBa_K4139018) which we have made as a composite part with a ribosome binding site, promoter, and terminator.
