tryptophan(trp)coding sequence
Saccharomyces cerevisiae is commonly used as a model organism for genetic modification, and yeast amino acid deficient medium is a necessary medium for yeast transformation and hybridization. According to the types of defective amino acids, the medium can be divided into four categories, which are one-deficiency medium, two-deficiency medium, three-deficiency medium and four-deficiency medium. Tryptophan(trp)as one of defective amino acids is a screening marker for four-deficient Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The yeast with this sequence could grow on SD medium lacking trp.
