eGFP codon optimized for B. subtilis

Enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP) is derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria and is one of the best-studied proteins in biochemistry. eGFP has an excitation maximum at 488 nm and an emission maximum at 507 nm. It is used to monitor gene expression efficiently in a variety of cells. [1]

In our genetic circuit eGFP is unter the control of the inducable promoter PPA1897 or PLux. If the acyl homoserine lactone 3OC12-HSL is present the expression of the gene encoding eGFP is induced. By that, we test the function of our designed genetic construct.
