Part:BBa_K3889121
Bacillus subtilis bovine pancreatic DNase 1 toxin cassette
This gene cassette has been developed to produce the Bovine Pancreatic DNase 1 toxin as part of a kill switch in Bacillus subtilis. The gene for producing this toxin (BBa_K3889027) has been kept under the inducible promoter gsiB (BBa_K3889013) that is induced by SigB. The cassette is completed by placing a double terminator (BBa_B0015) of Bacillus subtilis downstream to the gene of interest bpDNase 1 producing gene.
This cassette has been designed to be a part of a light-inducible kill switch in Bacillus subtilis. The induction of the toxin by SigB will serve the purpose of inducibility as the activation of SigB is under protein and only occurs when there is visible light in the surrounding.
