α- Ketoglutarate dehydrogenase（odhA） from C.glutamicum ATCC 13032

This part encodes α- Ketoglutarate dehydrogenase(odhA). Our plan is reducing its transcription efficiency to reduce the amount of succinyl coA and increase the amount of glutamate. In our project, we changed its RBS to a weaker one to gain more glutamate.

Usage and Biology

The products of coding gene(odhA) can catelyze the conversion of α- Ketoglutarate to succinyl CoA.
By changing its original RBS to a weaker one, the expression of odhA can be reduced, the amount of succinyl CoA would be reduced and glutamate would be increased.
