Usage and Biology
AtCPR is a cytochrome P450 reductase from Arabidopsis thaliana. In our project, AtCPR will react (+)-valencene to β -nootkatol in collaboration with HPO (cytochrome P450 hydroxylase).
Specific metabolic pathways are shown in Fig.1

In our project, AtCPR will work with VS (BBa_K3772005), HPO (BBa_K3772035), ADH3 (BBa_K3772037) and other endogenous enzyme systems of S. cerevisiae CEN.PK2-1Ca to synthesize nootkatone.
Fermentation production of nootkatone
The modified engineered strain S. cerevisiae CEN.PK2-1Ca was inoculated in 10 mL of SD medium system deficient in tryptophan, uracil and leucine. And the product nootkatone was assayed after incubation at 25 ℃, 200 rpm for 96h.
