Nitric oxide reductase D (norD) from Pseudomonas stutzeri JM300
This gene is part of the nor operon from P. stutzeri JM300. Nor is the third enzyme of the denitrification pathway, converting nitric oxide (NO) into nitrous oxide (N2O). NorD has been shown to be essential in Paracoccus denitrificans to get a functional NorCB complex by facilitating non-heme Fe insertion [1]. It is suspected that NorD has a similar function in maturation of NorCB in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and P. stutzeri [1].
