Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxin Cry1Ab protein coding region.
Cry1Ab protein is a Bt toxin. It assists colloidosmotic lysis by forming pores in the apical microvilli membrane of the cells by binding to the midgut epithelial cells of many lepidopteran larvae. During sporulation, the toxin is released which accumulates as an inclusion as well as a segment of the spore coat.
