B. subtilis SinR activity inhibitor
Prior reports show that SinI acts as a negative modulator of SinR; SinR is largely dedicated to the negative regulation of genes involved in biofilm formation. SinR-mediated repression is known to be achieved by the action of an antirepressor, SinI, which binds to and blocks the action of SinR (Banse et al., 2008). This part increases the production of biofilm in B. subtilis. Genetic experiments indicate that SinR is the downstream member of a regulatory pathway that consists of SinI, a known antagonist of SinR (Chu et al., 2006).
