H. insolens cutinase
This gene codes for a cutinase found in H. insolens. It produces terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol as the major product. The enzymatic activity of HIC attains maximum at 70 degrees celsius at a pH of 7.5. The degradation rate of HIC was found to be 30 micrometers per day at 70 degrees, pH 7.5 of lcPET films. HIC has good thermostability at up to 80 degrees celsius. It has retained 67% of its activities after an incubation of 192 hours at 70 degrees celsius. It is known that SDS can decrease the stability significantly.
