Cadmium binding system

This part is designed to produce Maltose Binding Protein with a linker that attaches to a binding protien. The binding sequence was a pseudo metallothionein which has been shown to bind to heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, and mercury. The purpose of the Maltose binding protein is to transport the binding protein to the periplasmic space in order to increase binding efficiency and lower the risk to the cell, and to stabilize the smaller protein.
