Promoter for the AOX1 (alcohol oxidase 1) gene in the P.pastoris GS115 strain

Promoter for the AOX1 (alcohol oxidase 1) gene in the P.pastoris GS115 strain. Derepressed by Mxr1 and upregulated by Mit1 and Prm1.

Usage and Biology

The AOX1 promoter (PAOX1) is homogeneous to the P. pastoris GS115 strain. It is derepressed by Mxr1 and upregulated by Mit1 and Prm1, all transcription factors homogeneous to the P. pastoris GS115 strain.

This part should be identical to the alcohol oxidase promoter registered as BBa_K431007, except that this our part (BBa_3239003) is also RFC 21 compatible.

Functional Parameters

Published literature has shown that this promoter is tightly regulated by its transcription factors and has a very low leakiness.
