STAT3 transcription factor
The intracellular domain of JAK/STAT-GEMS IL-6RB activates JAKs phosphorylate STAT3, and then STAT3 functions as transcription factor. After phosphorylated, STAT3 polymerizes into a dimer form as activated transcription factor that enters the cell nucleus and binds to a specific binding site of the target gene promoter sequence to promote transcription. It consists of six structural domains: a sequence-specific DNA binding domain, a transcription activation domain, N terminal conservative sequence associated with dimerization, curly spiral domain supporting interaction with other transcription factors, LD domain participating regulation of transcription and SH2 domain with high conservative.
