lcc1 gene codes laccase enzyme.
Laccase enzyme is produced in Trametes versicolor which is known as white-rot fungus. Studies show that laccase can oxidize both toxic and nontoxic substrate. It can degrade dye and whiten the water. Today textile industries throw away wastewater after it has been processed with dye. By using laccase these wastewaters can be whitened and reused in the textile industry. Our project is producing this laccase enzyme in a bacteria called E.coli under laboratory conditions. Trametes versicolor laccase gene will be optimized in the first part of this study and then transferred into E.coli. After transformation of the laccase gene, it will be transferred to the expression vector to provide the expression of the enzyme.
