The NADPH-dependent cytoplasmic [NiFe]-hydrogenase (SHI) from the hyperthermophile Pyrococcus furiosus, which grows optimally near 100°C, is extremely thermostable and has many in vitro applications, including cofactor generation and hydrogen production
