Characterization:

    According to references, P0038 is an up-regulated in stationary phase promoter. We obtained it by PCR from the genome of Zymomonas mobilis. The upstream promoter of ZMO0038. Methods used were likely to those used for BBa_K2800006. P0038 has 2-fold change comparing exponential phase and stationary phase.

Usage:

    We attempt to use P0038 is an up-regulated promoter in front of KdcA gene(BBa_K2800012). As a result, the strain grows and reproduces swiftly during the early exponential phase, consuming a small quantity of glucose, and then before the glucose run out, produce isobutanol at a relatively high rate. Let the strain regulates itself, like a automatic control system, so as to improve the isobutanol yield.
