pLsrA promoter
pLsrA promoter. LsrA is one of four genes in the lsr quorum-sensing operon that aids in the uptake of Autoinducer-2 (AI-2) into the cell. Specifically, "lsrA encodes the ATPase that provides energy for AI-2 transport." Phosphorylated AI-2 (phospho-AI-2) induces the lsr operon by binding to LsrR, which represses the operon.1
