From Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Code for expression of cholesteryl esterase (CHE) which convert cholesteryl ester to free cholesterol and fatty acid.
Usage and Biology
CHE catalyzes the hydration reactions of CEs into free cholesterol and fatty acids with high specificity.
Cholesteryl Ester + H2O → cholesterol + RCOOH
