Synthethases for Pyochelin and Yersiniabactin siderophor
This Basicpart encodes for the siderophor synthetase HMWP2, this synthetase is responsible for the first part of the non ribosomal synthesis (NRS) of yersiniabactin. The structure of the product is very similar to pyochelin, the secondary siderophor originating from pseudomonas aeruginosa. The only structural difference is a single methyl group, attached to one of the cystein residues. This derivate of pyochelin is called n-Nor-Pyochelin, a derivate with a 30% increased receptor affinity.
