Alpha-L-Arabinofuranosidase
Alpha-L-Arabinofuranosidases cleave terminal non-reducing alpha-L-arabinofuranoside residues, which can be found in hemicellulose, alkyl glycosides and other molecules. Our main vision for the part was for breaking down hemicellulose found in softwood and hardwood. This part should be able to free up hemicellulose polymers for easier degradation by enzymes such as endo/exo-xylanases, and beta-xylanases (in the case of xylose hemicellulose polymers).
This part is codon optimized for expression in E. coli.
