p32 High copy number BioBrick assembly replication
p32 is the replication of the plasmid pMG36e, which is a high copy number plasmid. The strong promoter P32 was discovered in 1987 by VanDer Vossen et al. Which was obtained from the cloning of Streptococcus cholerae by shotgun method. P32 includes an open reading frame and a ribosome binding site which can be recognized by Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Streptococcus.
Usage and Biology
The p32 promoter can be replicated either in Lactococcus or in E. coli. As a promoter for shuttle plasmids, the p32 promoter can initiate expression of the Smurfp protein in E. coli and Lactococcus.
