Part:BBa_K2310900
Formaldehyde Dismutase
This is an improved version of BBa_K1960103. Formaldehyde dismutase can catalyze the reaction of the disproportionate of aldehyde group, for example, formaldehyde can be catalyze into methanol and carbon dioxide. The expression of this BioBrick part is much better than BBa_K1960103.

(Both of them with a His-tag is about 50kDa)
Meanwhile, this part can also replace BBa_K1334015, BBa_K1334016 and BBa_K1334017 which have the similar functions.
Usage and Biology
Formaldehyde dismutase can catalyze the reaction of the disproportionate of aldehyde group, for example, formaldehyde can be catalyze into methanol and carbon dioxide. The coding sequences were cloned into plasmid pET-28a, and induced by IPTG. After a 6 hours inducing with IPTG, the bacteria were resuspended with formaldehyde solution, and incubated at 28℃, assay the content of formaldehyde once an hour.
