pex26
This part can be fused to the C-terminus of proteins to be imported into the peroxisomal membrane and it originates from mammalian cells. The PEX26 protein is peroxisomal membrane protein ortholog to S. cerevisiaes Pex15 that is used as an anchor for the Pex5 recycling unit (Pex1 and 6). The protein harbors a mPTS sequence that is used by other proteins to guide the fused protein to the membrane and then integrate it.
