Part:BBa_K2171000
CASH1 - osmotic stress protein from tardigrade
Cytosolic abundant heat soluble protein 1 (CASH1) - osmotic stress protein from tardigrade. This part is composed of K731500 (lacI-lacIq and a tac promoter) followed by a CDS of CASH1 optimized for expression in E. coli. CASH1 protein sequence was taken from UniProtKB: J7M799 (J7M799_9BILA).

Usage and Biology
This part was used by iGEM Bulgaria 2016 team in attempt to create genetic construct that could allow for the conversion of any microorganism into a resistant-towards-desiccation-and-temperature-stress type.
