Usage and Biology
We inserted a CtDockerin (BBa_K2155002) behind our core enzyme BFD-Benzoylformate decarboxylase(Figure1). We ligated these two parts by using one-step cloning. With the dokerin, BFD can specially bind to scaffold protein and form a enzyme complex with TalB(Figure2). We have verified that the yeild of xylulose could be greatly improved when we use the scaffold protein to combine TalB and BFD.
Figure1. Dockerin is inserted behind our gene of interest.
Figure2. Enzymes(BFD and TalB) with dockerin bind to scaffold protein and form a enzyme complex.
