TetR-pTet Inducible Promoter
pTet is a constitutive promoter that is repressed by TetR. When added, aTc (anhydrotetracycline) binds to TetR and removes it from pTet, allowing for promoter activity. Alternative to other pTet BioBrick parts in the registry, this part has TetR included and constitutively produced. Therefore, this part can be used as an inducible promoter, which will vary promoter strength depending on the concentration of aTc added. In other words, it allows for the fine tuning of gene expression. See it used in a composite part with petF for example data.
