Cellobiose response regulator (ClbR) is a Zn(II)2Cys6 transcriptional activator.

ClbR controls the expression of cellulase-related genes in response to Avicel and cellobiose in Aspergillus aculeatus. Cellobiose bound to ClbR and active Cbh1. through this transcriptional activator detecting cellulose will allow the gene expression, the Lip and Lac, and that way degrade lignin.
