3-Oxoadipate enol-lactonase

pacD is a gene encoding the 3-oxoadipate enol-lactonase protein from Pseudomonas putida strain KT2440.

Usage and Biology

3-oxoadipate enol-lactonase catalyzes the reaction in which 3-oxoadipate enol-lactone is converted to 3-oxoadipate.
The enzyme is part the hydrolase family of enzymes which catalyze the hydrolysis of chemical bonds.
3-oxoadipate enol-lactonase exhibits optimal activity in a pH range of 7.5 to 10 and has an estimated molecular weight of 33,000 daltons.
