Catalytic enzyme (lipase)
Part coding for the catalytic enzyme LipA, which can be secreted by Bacillus subtilis. It can attack the lipids found in ink, but for the complete functionality it needs cofactors. The gene sequence is naturally found in B. subtilis.
Usage and Biology
The expressed enzyme can be used to hydrolyse the esterbonds of the lipids.
This gene is intended for use in B. subtilis, preceded by a secretory tag like BBa_K2029000 or BBa_K2029001 which signals the B. subtilis cell to secrete the coded protein into the medium. Sequence and Features
