Part:BBa_K2018043
MaSp1 CD
Major ampullate spidroin 1 (MaSp1) is a gene for the dragline silk of the specie Nephilia Clavipes. This gene is divided into three parts, MaSp1 AB, MaSp1 BC and MaSp1 CA. This part is a modification of MaSp1 CA so it have different overhangs. This is a component which have the specifics overhangs of 5’-CGTG-3’ when treated with BsaI on 29bp. This makes it compatible with the MaSp1 BC sequence (K1763011). The sequence is 120 bps long. When treated with BsaI it also recognizes a sequence at 130bp and creates the overhang 5’-TAGC-3’ (notice the direction of the sequence). This sequence was made by iGEM 2016 team Southern Denmark in their project of Bacto-Aid. The part is designed for the technique Iterative Capped Assembly (ICA), which can elongate several steps of ligation creating your desired gene sequence, if overhangs are compatible.
