This part is the only original sequence from Halomonas sp.JC-5B, so its expression in E.coli is low. An improved version of this part with a sequence optimization has been designed, the improved part is BBa_K2310900
This is the sequence of formaldehyde dismutase from Halomonas sp.JC-5B, a formaldehyde tolerance bacteria in Pacific Ocean. Formaldehyde dismutase can catalyze the reaction of the disproportionate of aldehyde group, for example, formaldehyde can be catalyze into methanol and carbon dioxide.
