Part:BBa_K1945001
Homologous Recombination Plasmid for Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803
This is a homologous recombination plasmid for Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803. Any sequence can be cloned into the plasmid using standard iGEM BioBrick assembly protocols because the prefix and suffix are moved in between the neutral site slr0168. Transformation into the organism will allow recombination of the plasmid into slr0168.
The plasmid map on iGEM's page is not correct because the composite part is between VF2 and VR. See our design page for more information and the accurate plasmid map.
This part has a twin called https://parts.igem.org/Part:BBa_K1945011 to categorize it as a plasmid. It also has the complete sequence including where these new features integrate into the standard pSB1C3 plasmid. To perform homologous recombination, the organism should already have a strain with this sequence (https://parts.igem.org/Part:BBa_K1945011) to complete the counter-selection method.
