Part:BBa_K1647007
PompC+Riborugulator
This part is composed of promoter OmpR and a riboregulator. In nature, this promoter is upstream of the ompC porin gene. The regulation of ompC is determined by the EnvZ-OmpR osmosensing machinery. EnvZ phosphorylates OmpR to OmpR-P. At high osmolarity, EnvZ is more active, creating more OmpR-P. OmpR-P then binds to the low-affinity OmpR operator sites upstream of ompC. The riboregulator is lock 3 and can be opened by key 3 in our other part, the riboregulator can form a hairpin structure spontaneously when it is transcripted in the cell. This structure can prevent ribosome from binding to the mRNA, when its key - taRNA comes, this structure can be loosed. By this way, it can act as the regulator of mRNA translation. The riboswitch is from BBa_J01010.
