sdsA Alkyl sulfatase

The SDSA1 is a gene that codifies for the enzyme alkyl sulfatase. This sequence has an IPTG inducible promoter for over expression of the enzyme. This enzyme is an alkyl sulfatase from Pseudomonas sp. and it catalyzes the cleavage of the sulfate group from the sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) molecules, turning it into 1-dodecanol. [http://2015.igem.org/Team:TecCEM_HS Tec CEM HS ] used this for their project because if their cleavage properties with SDS. It also has an Histidine 6X tag for purification and for the main module of a biofilter, which is a nickel affinity column.
