Glycoaldehyde reductase and dehydrogenase
Our part is the combination of two genes coding for enzymes that belong to the degradation pathway of Ethylene Glycol: - the Glycoaldehyde Reductase (BBa_K936023): this enzyme catalyzes the transformation of Ethylene Glycol into Glycoaldehyde. - the Glycoaldehyde Dehydrogenase (BBa_K936011): this enzyme catalyzes the reaction from Glycoaldehyde to Glycolate.
We used it as one of our clusters in the PET degradation operon.
