K1618016 contains the coding sequence for the enzyme β-hydroxybutyryl-CoA Dehydrogenase (BHBD) of the butyrate biosynthetic pathways (Figure 1) from Coprococcus sp. (L2-50 DSM 16842) under control of the LacI promoter. β-hydroxybutyryl-CoA Dehydrogenase catalyzes the Conversion of Acetoacetyl-CoA to 3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA 1.
