K1618014 contains the coding sequence for the enzyme thiolase of the butyrate biosynthetic pathways (Figure 1) from Coprococcus sp. (L2-50 DSM 16842) under control of the LacI promoter. Thiolase catalyzes the Conversion of Acetyl-CoA to Acetoacetyl-CoA 1.
