Randomized protospacer for CRISPR/Cas9 System
This is a randomly-generated 20bp sequence that does not occur anywhere in the E. coli MG1655 genome. It can be used as a protospacer (target site for Cas9 nuclease).
Usage and Biology
The protospacer and PAM forms the target site for the Cas9 nuclease. To make Cas9 target this site, the protospacer (not including the PAM) must be inserted into a crRNA array. (see Part:BBa_K1559002)
