3OC6HSL Sender Controlled by constitutive medium strong Promoter
This part generates the LuxI enzyme which produces AHL (3OC6HSL). It is created with a moderate strong constitutive promoter (BBa_J23107) and a 3OC6HSL (AHL) sender device (BBa_F1610).
Usage and Biology
AHL, a cell-cell signaling molecule is produced by the LuxI protein. The LuxI protein is expressed due to the luxI gene which is under the control of a constitutive promoter (BBa_J23107). For this reason no input is needed for induction of gene expression. As output AHL can be measuredJ23107]). For this reason no input is needed for induction of gene expression. As output AHL can be measured (see experience for a quantitve AHL production determination).
