Arabinose promoter + CpxR
The part contains CpxR with an upstream arabinose-inducible promoter. This part is the starting point of our work with bacteria. It will be fused to sfGFP (BBa_K1486002, BBa_K1486005, BBa_K1486040 & BBa_K1486041) and to IFP (BBa_K1486008 to BBa_K1486015 & BBa_K1486056).
Usage and Biology
CpxR is a Transcription Factor which dimerizes upon activation. Its activation and inactivation is mediated by CpxA, a transmembrane histidine kinase or phosphatase when active or inactive respectively. CpxA becomes activated in response to periplasmic stress, such as outer membrane deformation, pH, salt concentration, temperature...
