Usage and Biology
We constructed and improved standard BioBrick Parts about cyanide detoxification.This part conteins CynR,CynT,CynS three genes.The CynT and CynS belong to cynTSX operon. The transcriptional activation of the cynTSX polycistronic message is under the positive control of the CynR protein and cyanide. The highlight is that the cynTSX operon enables Escherichia coli K-12 to degrade and use cyanide as a sole nitrogen source. And the most important point is the promoter of this operon is positively regulated by cyanide and the CynR protein, which means this part can play a role only in the exist of cyanide.
1. Growth curve of bacteria containing RTS

This result shows that there is no obvious deference between the growth of the bacteria containing our RTS part and the empty vector. This means that other methods should be adapted to characterize this part.
However ,due to the fact that the cyanide is extremely toxic to human beings ,even trace amount of cyanide can lead us to death , our lab keeper rejected us to do further experiment with the consideration of safety. But we will try to go further in the near future.
