Cysk-T25 Fusion protein
Half of adenylate cyclase fused to the wildtype CysK permissive factor. CysK is a necessary factor required by the UPEC536 toxin (a tRNAse) for activity. Adenylate cyclase is an enzyme that produces cylcic AMP; in our system, cAMP will trigger the expression of GFP. CysK-T25 is to be paired with I-T18, which is another fusion protein comprised of the complementary half of adenylate cyclase and an immunity protein. When the toxin is present, both the immunity protein (I) and Cysk bind the toxin, allowing the two halves of adenylate cyclase to come together and generate a functional enzyme that can produce cAMP.
