fnr
Protein FNR (fumarate and nitrat reduction) from E. coli is a global trasscription regulator which controls the switch between anaerobic and aerobic metabolism.
In absence of oxygen, FNR forms a dimer that is active in transcription regulation.
In presence of oxygen, FNR is inactivated through disruption of Fe-S cluster, resulting dimer to monomer transtion.
