TycC6 Module from Tyrocidine
This is the coding sequence for the TycC6 module from a gene cluster of Brevibacillus parabrevis. TycC6 is the last module in a cluster that encodes the non-ribosomal peptide synthetase of the cyclic decamer Tyrocidine. This specific module TycC6 is responsible for the binding of the last amino acid Leucine of the NRP. It consists of a C- (condensation), A- (adenylation) and a TE- (thioesterase) domain. After the additon of Leucine from TycC, the decapeptide undergoes cyclization to the final native Tyrocidine.
This biobrick can be used for the design of different NRPS. It was used in the synthetic Dipeptide, TripeptideI/II and TetrapeptideI/II of our [http://2013.igem.org/Team:Heidelberg/Project/Tyrocidine project].
