This single sequence can be used to terminate transcription for two genes in which the first gene (from left to right) is on the Watson strand and the second (from right to left) is on the Crick strand. It was isolated by identifying pairs of nearby convergent genes. The bidirectional terminator is defined as the sequence lying between two convergently oriented ORFs and extending 200 bp into each ORF.
